Finn is a wonderfully sweet boy who loves his person and is very dedicated to his singular person. He loves to play ball. He walks great on leash. He listens well and is completely housebroken. He is not without his issues and we have to be honest about them so we find him the RIGHT HOME. As Finn has gotten adjusted to me as his new, although temporary, mom, he has become a little protective of the property and of me. He is fine when people come to the house but they must ignore him and not approach me. They have to sit down and ignore him until he decides they are okay. He has also gotten protective of me from the other dogs. When I am standing he is fine, when I sit and he sits next to me, he doesn’t like any dogs coming into his space near me. He simply warns, so nothing major, but it is a issue we need to work him through in the coming months in a new home.
So, as beautiful as Finn is, he has to have the right home with someone who has dog experience who is willing to work with him and know his issues. We don’t ever want him to be put in a position like this again.

Cici is fabulously sweet, loves to snuggle, plays with toys and enjoys going for walks. She was a little hesitant with men but quickly warms up. Chavo is a super smart, very large shepherd. He needs a home with experience with the breed to help teach him to listen. He usually listens well but other times he is in a world of his own. He walks great on leash, is no crate trained, and good with all the dogs big and small. He is just a lot of dog and he is a “power player” so he wants to play rough and he wants to dominate. We have been working on this daily. Sadly, b/c of this he is living outside in a yard of his own for now b/c we have other dogs are the kennel house that will not enjoy Chavo’s personality and they will be the ones to cause an issue. He does have some free run time at night and is crate trained. This is a fabulous dog who deserves better than he has been dealt we just need to find the right home.
Chavo grew up living outside. He was surrendered to us b/c “he digs out when he runs out of water”. He was then going to the neighbors and chasing her chickens. He has learned quickly not to potty inside when he gets his free run time but I still occassionally have to scold him bc he wants to dribble on one particular wall.

This sweet old man would love to have a home. Oreo loves his people and the volunteers but is a little slower to appreciate the men in his life. A home where the husband/boyfriend is gentle, soft spoken and willing to let Oreo come around on his own time would be perfect. He has never been aggressive, he just is shyer of men. He has missing teeth but nothing that needs to be addressed at this time. He is very healthy.
Oreo sits and submissively “smiles” when you give him love and attention. It is so cute. We need to work on his leash walking because the big world makes him a little nervous. This sweet, little chunky, potato shaped girl needs a home where she can get diet food and some exercise outside. She is lazy and just likes to lay around all day and she is now a little hefty. She does not walk on leash so that is not an option but I think in a home with one other dogs, she would feel more confident to play. Each night here, she and one of our seniors always have a 5 min play session when everyone else goes to bed.

Logan is an 8 yr old Pit Bull mix, 70 lbs. He is very friendly, super sweet and just loves having a giant ball in his mouth at all times. He has a big personality to go with his big head.
Logan is good with other dogs, has never been around cats or kids. He is a little too energetic for kids because he doesn’t doesn’t his size. He can also be a little shy of strangers and protective of my gate when people come up. Once they come inside I have them toss a ball and then he is their best friend forever.
Logan spends his days laying in the yard with his ball or lounging in the deck. Sadly we have some digs who don’t like Logan so he stays outside away from them most of the time. He is NOT the aggressor. He actually cowards from them when he comes in to go to bed. The most energy I see him exude is that he loves to race the mail truck. Tom is special needs b/c he is a weirdo. He loves women but it still takes him a while to warm up. He is okay with men until they speak and thier deeper voices freak him out so we would love to find him a MAMA ONLY HOME that has experience with shy dogs. He does NEED ANOTHER DOG b/c he watchs the other dog to see if everything is okay. Tom is great with other large dogs and rather submissive until something sounds like it isi going to be a confrontation then he jumps in. Luckily, just yelling his name makes him respond b/c he immed knows he did wrong. This also makes him SPECIAL NEEDS. Sadly, due to this issue, he has to be kept separately during the day in his own yard (fan and plenty of housing and water) but it is isolation and it’s unfair.
If Tom could get into a home that had patience to allow him to adjust to his new people and his new surroundings, that Home would realize what a fabulous dog he is. If you are dog savvy AND have experience with dogs like this, I would like to discuss Tom Collins I would love to talk to you.

JUNIOR LOVES EVERYONE HE MEETS!
Junior a fabulously sweet boy who has never met a stranger. When volunteers are here he wants to follow them around for love and attention. He went to doggie daycare and had a blast.
He likes toys and playing with other dogs but is pretty mellow most of the time just chilling, chewing on a durabone and watching the activities. He also loves to cuddle. He was in a short term foster home for few weeks and each night he would race them to the bed to claim his spot.

Bryson is a short, solid muscle, man who is super sweet and friendly. He always has a happy wiggle butt going and is has never met a stranger.
