We at Forgotten Paws understands the need to sometimes keep a set of dogs together. If they have been together all their lives, we try our best to find them a home together. Finding single homes is tough enough so placing two dogs at once is even tougher.
However, I, as the Director of the group, always had a fear that if something happened to me, that my two little girls, Sandy and Sugar (beagle mixes) would be separated. I made everyone in my life promise me that it would not happen and they would forever be together. I guess this is where my passion for keeping dogs who are bonded together in the same home.
We appreciate you thinking about adopting a "set". I also believe that two is always better then one. They entertain each other and keep each other company when you are not home.

Ducky and Dot are the last remaining pups of a litter of 10. There is no rhyme or reason as to who is left for last, but there is always one. In this case a larger litter left two for last. They have been the last two left behind for many months now and so they have bonded. With each puppy that got adopted, Dot was depressed but at least she always had Ducky.
These two cuddle together, play together, ignore the other dogs and just live in their own little world. They even poop side by side! LOL They play their little hearts out all day with each other and when exhausted you will find them in one crate together or on a chair asleep together. I think they will be absolutely devastated to be separated, or at least the one left here alone will be.
Ducky and Dot have free run of the house when I am home and all night long. They are crated when I am away but I think they are very close to being able to be free. They are so sweet and smart. Both will sit for treats and come when called. They love to play with their toys and wrestle in the leaves. They are totally housebroken if you have dog door, if not there may be a little work to be done to teach them to tell you but as I said, they are both very smart and I doubt there will be any issue at all.
These babies need a fenced yard to play in together. I WILL separate but would love to keep them together. |

Zoe and Indy have been together since birth. They were confiscated by a man who had poured bleach on them to get rid of fleas and cut their tails off at home with pruning sheers. They were very young so luckily they don't seem to remember all that!
Zoe and Indy are so sweet and loving. They are both very submissive and shy although they do have separate personalities. Indy loves to rub her belly in the grass and roll around happily. Zoe is a bouncer. She likes to bounce around with her toys and toss them in the air. Both girls are still crated when I am not home but that is b/c I have several dogs. I think they are ready to be free when they get placed into a new home.
Indy is more social, will go for walks and loves to see all the people at the dog park. Zoe is more nervous about new situations but we are working on that. Both are very smart, young and playful. They just need someone to spend time with them. Indy will stand up on your for love but it is gentle. Zoe stands up on you with more force.
They will require a secure fenced yard. We WILL separate these two if a good home comes along for one and not the other.

Laverne and Shirley were taken from a Hoarder in Alabama. These girls grew up on her farm in a pen out back with little to no socialization. We have had them for 1 year now and they just love to be loved especially if you have a brush in your hand!
They have never been apart and we feel that although Laverne would adjust, Shirley may not. Laverne is the more outgoing, happy go lucky one, while Shirley worries more. They are both very good on leash and listen very well. They love to lay outside and get the fresh air and enjoy the sun but they also want to be near their person.
Laverne is a toy hoarder and will take them all and not allow Shirley to have any. They have to be fed in two separate bowls b/c Laverne will steal her food as well. However, if you take Laverne off with out Shirley, you can see that she is in constant worry and gets very timid until Laverne returns. Peas in a pod is the best way to describe them.
These girls would do great in a home with a big fenced in yard where they can hang outside all day and inside at night. That would be their dream. We WILL NOT separate these girls just yet. We truly hope that someone will open up their hearts and homes to these big babies. |

Benny and Luke were rescued from a Hoarder over in Alabama. She had over 100 dogs on her property and these poor babies had been born in a pen on the back of her farm where they lived all of their lives and were never touched. Even after we placed all the dogs and these boys were the only ones left behind, she ignored them completely. They came to live with me 2 months ago.
Benny and Luke and their siblings have never been separated. They are very very shy and timid of new things and seem to go better when they have each other. At the farm they had been separated into different pens and Benny and Luke were together. They love each other. They lay on each other in positions that you think would be very uncomfortable. They are side by side all the time and Luke follows Benny lead most of the time.
Benny is outgoing and wants desperately to be loved. His tail goes 90 miles an hour and he wiggles around when you have treats or you use baby talk. He comes to you for treats and will lean in to get them. If you sit you can pet him and he is happy. Luke is like Benny but much shyer. Only if Benny goes to you will Luke go to you. If you move to fast he will decide it isn't worth the treat and go lay down while Benny things the treats are worth anything!
These boys will need a person who is very gentle, very patient and who has a very tall fenced yard. This someone has to be willing to listen to me b/c I know these boys and I know the looks on their faces when they get freaked out and what you have to do when it happens. The key is to ignore them and walk away and they will follow you but if you go towards them they will run and YES they can jump a 6 foot fence is they feel they need too.
These boys are wonderful and they have it in them to be wonderful but they need a chance. They have had nothing in their lives until now. If you can FOSTER them that is all we are asking at this point.
We WILL separate these boys if we can find the homes with other outgoing dogs who they can learn from.

In December of 2008, we pulled McKenzie's puppies from under a tree in the woods when they were only 4 weeks old. McKenzie was so happy to be loved and warm and take care of her 12 puppies.
In each litter there seems to always be one that hangs around forever but since there were 12 in this litter and they are black, there are still 4 left behind. Each has been loved dearly by their foster mom and there is no doubt that McKenzie knows these are her pups. She sleeps free in the room where they are crated and if one makes a sound she is first to go check on them even now, one year later. These pups acknowledge that they are all one little family and they do love each other dearly.
We know they will all most likely be placed separately but we thought we would post them just in case someone was wanting two.
Please click on their names to see their descriptions which are listed on other pages.
The most outgoing is Caleb. The shyest is Sabrina. The funniest is Jacob and the weirdest is Patrick. McKenzie is just an angel. We love them all
