Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Leo is a precious little boy. He is a lap dog and a love bug and just wants to feel special. He has a great time playing with his foster brother and sister dogs and chewing on his toys all day long. He just has the sweetest disposition and is very smart. Leo sits for treats, comes and called and loves to snuggle. When his foster dad takes a nap, you can always find Leo curled up next to him. he doens't even get up for treats! LOL He loves his snuggle time! He will be a great adult dog for any person or family!!!

History: Leo and his brother Wolfie (listed below) were in animal control. That animal control unit took thier persoanl day off and brought 18 dogs from death row to a big adoption event held in June over in Alpharetta. At the end, they begged rescue to take the ones that had not been adopted. You see, the shelter is overflowing and any dogs going back with them would be euthanized. We took these babies and luckily all the remaining dogs went into rescue! This photo was taken about 10 minutes after we got Leo. Doesn't he look so happy to be cuddled and held!

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: I can't say enough about how smart Wolfie and his brother are and how sweet they to everyone and everything they meet. Wolfgang is a mama's boy in his foster home. He loves his human mama and follows her everywhere. While Leo has bonded to his dad, Wolfie loves to sit in his moms lap and be spoiled rotten! He also loves to play of course and gets along great with all the other dogs. Wolfie can sit for treats and comes on command. He is funny though, when mom is in bed, Wolfie comes up to see her but doesn't get on the bed. He likes to lay on the floor next to her side. Both or either of these boys will be so awesome for any home!

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Cupcake is a smart loving little girl who wants desperately to be lap dog and get hugs all day long. She is a great dog who knows many hand signals and does just as well as the other dogs in her daily life. The only tough part is that she has to be looking at you for you to talk to her. Cupcake wiggles her butt constantly and loves to play with her toys. She is great with the other dogs but on occasion will get upset when someone comes near her toys so we would like to see her in a only dog home. A person can stick their hand down her throat and she would just give you kisses so there is no real aggression. Actually here at my house she loves to play with the tiny dogs the most. I assume b/c they are submissive and she knows they aren't a threat! Cupcakes favorite thing to do is chase bugs and she will sit and have a staring contest with a fly for hours at a time! LOL Cupcake loves children but will lay on them and give them kisses if they get on the ground.

History: Cupcake was a stray picked up by Animal Control. Because she was deaf they could not adopt her to the public. I met her when I was up there one day and couldn't let her die so she came home with me. Cupcake got adopted but did not do well sharing the attention in the home with the other dog.

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Minnie is a doll! She sleeps alot and seems to really enjoy the big comfy dog bed or the couch! She is a quiet and moves slow but on occasion she will get a happy spring in her step and wag over to me for love. She has the best eyes which are full of love and loyalty. She just needs a nice quiet home to retire. I know taking in a senior dog seems like too much trouble to many people. Most people say they couldn't stand to just have a dog for a few years then it die. Well, she needs to find a person who can see past that and love her for the time she has left. Her previous owners failed her and she deserves to be loved.

History: Minnie was a stray picked up by Animal Control. Her owners never came looking for her so I took her in in hopes of finding her a nice quiet home to retire and live out her life

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Alexis is a wonderful girl. She listens well and loves to play with other dogs. She will also come and sit against your leg to be petted. She plays fetch and has lots of playful energy and a smile on her face at most times. She is sensitive. If anyone here gets in trouble and I deepen my voice, she runs and hides. Alexis will go in her crate when told and I do crate her when I am not home and at night. Since she was in the shelter for several months she learned to potty inside. We are working on this and she is getting the hang of it. We have just finished treating her for a urinary t4ract infection so hopefully since she is feeling better she will not need to potty so often. She will need a home with a fenced yard and an active person or family. If you don';t have a fence then you need to be very active b/c a tired puppy is a good puppy and a bored puppy is not! You will need to continue to work with Alexis on he skills and training. She will sit on command but still stands up on the side of the kitchen counters to check things out. She is just so young at heart!

History: Alexis was a shelter favorite. They are a high kill shelter but they loved her so much they kept her alive for 6 months!!!! We recently pulled her out b/c they are so full and overwhelmed and her time was at an end. What a great dog!

Ducky nor Dot have Sponsors

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Ducky (aka Duck Duck or Duck boy)- Ducky is a smart, loving little man. He is such a good boy, listens well, knows his name, and has no problems getting muddy in the rain if needed. He loves to lay on his big teddy bear which is twice as big as he is and flat so it is like a pillow. He runs and romps and rolls with his last remaining sister (Dot). They are peas in a pod and are always side by side. I crate Ducky and Dot still when I am not home but I can leave them free for short periods of time.

Dot (aka Dotty, Dot Dot)- Dot is a quiet, shy little angel. She loves to romp and roll though and has no problem getting muddy in this wet weather. It doesn't phase her as long as Ducky is at her side. She is very smart and listens perfectly. She knows her name and terms like "are you hungary", "get in your bed", and when I ask her if she is thirsty she licks her lips! LOL Here is a story that will explain why I can't separate these two ....you see, each time one of Dot's sisters got adopted, she was very visibly upset and looked for them. She has bonded herself to Ducky. Last week, Dot came in the house but Ducky was busy playing and stayed out in the fenced area. I forgot and few hours later I looked out and Dot has dragged her blanket downstairs and through the house. She was shivering in the cold, on her blanket by the gate looking very upset. Then I saw Ducky. He was laying on the other side of the gate right next to her! There is no way I will let them go alone after that!

Dot and Ducky would do best in a home with no toddlers children b/c they are shy. They do require a fenced in yard as well.

See my playtime photo..I think Dot was winning!

History: Ducky & Dot and their 8 other siblings were an owner turn in. In exchange, we fixed mom and dad!

Apply to Adopt- adoption fee is $100

Foster Home Notes: PB is such an awesome dog but no one gives him a second look b/c of his coloring and his age. He is easy once he is settled in your home. PB loves to be outside and loud in the sun but he also really loves his dog bed. At first it was tough to get him to come in the house b/c he was so scared but once he learned that coming in meant dinner, treats and a dog bed, he was all about it! I think when he goes to a new home he may also go through this again so they new person has to know how to work with him and trick him to come in the first few times. PB is very worth it! You will never meet a more loyal dog then PB. He bonds with his person very quickly and looks to you for approval and for cues. He is currently with another dog, Nikki (also for adoption) and I feel that it would be in his best interest to go to a home with another dog so he can learn from that dog. PB is totally housebroken. He just seems to know immediately not to go in the house. Don't let this wonderful little soul pass you by. He really needs you. See his history

History: PB grew up on a farm with over 100 dogs including his 2 siblings, Ginger (see Ginger) and Sugar (already adopted). He spent his day laying in the sun and playing with bugs and rodents. They were contained to a very large penned area but this was their only entertainment. They had very little social interaction as pups. Ginger, his sister, lives in the main foster facility and is a doll baby. Sugar lives with a family and immediately took over the den sofa.

Maggie's Monthly Sponsor is Lucy T.

Foster Home Notes: Maggie is an amazing girl full of smiles all the time! She loves to get cookies and play with the other dogs. She loves to be loved in general. She has a quirkily little personality and will climb up on you b/c she absolutely LOVES to be hugged! She spends her days laying on her dog bed chewing on a bone or napping or following me around the house. Maggie tolerates the cat and is great with other dogs. She gets very attached to her person and would do best in a home with a mommy. She loves her foster dad but you can tell she is partial to loving women. Maggie would do best in a home with a fenced yard and another dog. She is very sweet, quiet and shy so another dog will help bring her out of her shell.

History: Maggie was left at an animal sanctuary farm when she was found running lose. No one ever claimed her.

Mazie has No Sponsors

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Mazie is the best of both worlds. She is loving and cuddly yet she loves to play. She loves toys and chewies and can spend hours just playing all by herself. She is pretty laid back once she gets settled but she hasn't been adopted b/c she is hyper when she first meets people. She is just so excited to be out and about and it is as if she knows they are looking to adopt her and so she shows off. Mazie loves to go for walks but still pulls with excitement and chases squirrels. This can be trained. She is a very very smart girl and not a day goes by that she doesn't seem to learn something new. She just needs someone to give her a chance. Mazie's favorite passtime is to lay on the foot of my bed and look out the window at the passing world.

History: Mazie was adopted out as a 8 week old puppy and returned to us when she was two b/c she got alot bigger then we expected.

Jillian has No Sponsors

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Must let your dog on the furniture, bed and love kisses! Must want a dog who is lazy, smart and full of lots of love! Must be someone who loves to give hugs to the dog! If there has ever been a perfect dog, Jillian is awfully close to being it. There is so much to say about this wonderful little girl with a spirit that can't be broken. Jillian thinks she weights 10 lbs and should be a lap dog. She is very stealthy! She climbs up on the bed and silently lays across the pillows. When the alarm goes off she wakes you with kisses and just wants to be hugged. She is so very smart and wonderfully sweet. She was totally housebroken, can sit, lay down and crawl on command. She spends her days laying in her chair (you will not get her to train off furniture), playing with her doggie friends and is constantly cleaning their faces and ears like the good mommy she once was. She will need a home with another dog as she gets stressed if she is alone but when she has another dog she is fine. She needs a home who will NOT leave her outside unattended for long periods or she won't be there when you go back out. She is just too smart for her own good. Remind me to tell you about the day I had her outside on leash but not tied to anything....she would crawl about 4 feet then look at me to see if I had noticed! LOL

History: Jillian lived as a stray in the North Georgia Mountains around Elijay for almost a year. She hung around going up to anyone who would let her and begging them to take her in. She slept on the front porch of different houses and spent her days running the woods looking for food. She had a litter of puppies and animal control came and got them but since she was out looking for food, the left her behind. Image how distraught she must have been when she came back! We got an email pleading for us to take her. We had no room but thought another group had agreed to help. Over a month later, the day before that ice storm in January, we got another email saying she had never been rescued. We dropped everything and went to get her. She came wagging out of the woods to see us and was happy to go in the car.

Zoe has No Sponsors

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Zoe is a wonderfully sweet little angel. She is submissive in personality and rolls over for belly rubs alot. She also is a smiler. Most people have seen dogs who smile and show thier front teeth but Zoe grins. Her mouth is closed but she turns up the corners in a grin. It is so cute! When she plays she loves to bounce and run and seems to have a zest for life. When inside I usually find her on my bed or on her bed, upside down playing with a small dog or one of her toys. She loves to roll over and hold her toys in the air above her. Zoe stays in a crate when I am not home but on nice days I can leave her outside with her sister Indy (also listed) and they love to lay in the sun. She is great with everyone she meets but a little shy at first. She will come up sniff but if you reach for her she runs backwards. You have to sit down and then she is all yours. Zoe still needs work on not jumping and putting her paws on you. She is a boxer mix and the toughest thing to teach a boxer is to keep all four feet on the floor. She is well worth it though and would be great for a family who has kids or someone who wants to go to the dog park. Fenced yard is required.

History: A friends daughter rescued these puppies from her neighbor. He had gotten them from a friend of his. He thought they were covered in fleas so he told her he poured bleach on them to kill the fleas. It wasn't fleas it was mites. He also confessed that he had cropped their tails with pruning sheers! We quickly got them vetted and now, several weeks later, they are mange FREE and happy and healthy.

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Kuya is a sweet little girl full of fun and energy. She loves to romp and play and needs a home who will take her for walks, play at the dog park, etc. She is so smart that she gets bored to death sitting in the house all the time. She loves everyone she meets and has such a wonderful personality that everyone comments on it. Kuya is also a huge cuddler. She loves to "spoon" and be a big baby. I usually find her sound sleep on my bed at nap time. A TALL fenced yard or active leash walking is required. She can clear a short fence without thinking twice and she will in order to go explore. If the weather is nice and I put her outside, Kuya will jump my 6 foot fence and go explore in the woods. Thank goodness she has not gone up to the main 4 lane road nearby yet! I keep my eye on her and as long as I don't lock her outside she stays home. Kuya is great with other dogs andpossibly cats. She is good with older kids but not toddlers who want to climb on her.

History: Kuya was adopted from Cobb County Animal Control but her family couldn't contain her in thier short fence so they chained her up. The kids would let her out and she would run off to play and romp in the neighborhood. We helped the family find her a new home but now, that new home has had a child and no longer has time for Kuya. We need to rehome her again.

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Bowie is doing great and so awesome with kids! He is a sweet, smart, loving little guy with a wiggly butt and a zest for life. He always has a happy smile on his face. Bowie listens very well and gets in his bed when told, comes when called and knows his name of course. He doesn't know any tricks and when you try to teach him he just runs in his crate like he is in trouble. I do crate Bowie b/c he loves it. He is housebroken and very good but he likes the security of his dark crate and that is where I find him napping on cold days. Bowie loves to play with the other dogs and toys. He will chew on a bone or drag a stuffed animal around. If you have nothing else, an empty plastic water bottle makes him just as happy! Bowie has had leg surgery from being hit by a car and although you can see that leg is a little different if you look for it, he still can go 90 miles and hour without hesitation. He has no medical issues that we aware of.

History: Bowie had an owner who let him run free and one day he got hit by a car and his owner let him lay in the front yard for 2 DAYS until a neighbor finally called a friend of ours to come help. There is no Animal Control in that area and when she called the local sheriff they told her to shot the dog and put it out of its misery!!! No prosecution for the owner either!

Bud was sponsored for July by Catherine E. Thank you Kiki!

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Bud is on special food. It cost $40 a month! Donations needed

Foster Home Notes: Foster home needed or forever home ASAP! Bud is allergic to alot of things. We know he is allergic to to carpet and he hates blankets b/c they make him itch. He lays on the hardwood floors and tile most of the time. OUR BIGGEST ISSUE - we are trying to figure out what kind of food he needs to control his allergies but he keeps eating the other dogs food! .When he eats the other food he gets drippy eyes and ear infections and is miserable but how to you explain that to him! If you can foster him, all food and medications are supplied! We can't get him adopted until we get this under control!

Bud's spirits are wonderful and he is a fun playful boy.. He is a total love and full of playful spunk. He is great with people and just wants lots of toys. Bud gets along well with other dogs but is too interested in the cat. He loves car rides and walks in the park. Bud requires that he be shaved at all times. Long hair makes him hot and hewill scratch at himself and break out in heart bumps.
Bud is such a great dog he just deserves a chance!

History: Bud's previous owner wanted my vet to kill Bud because he didn't want to deal with his scratching and allergies. Although the vet had told him he needed a speical diet, the previous owner never did that and thus Bud never got better. Luckily they called me to intervene

Sadly no one looks at her b/c of her breed mix and it is sad for her. She loves to play with her toys, go for walks, chew on her bones and get lots of love. She lays on her dog bed and chews on her toys or chews on another dog while the family here watches tv at night. She loves to crawl up in our laps and pretend to be the size of a chihuahua. She curls up in a little ball when she sleeps too. I crate her when I am gone for long periods but not when I just run out for a short errand. I usually come home to find her asleep on the couch. She has a wonderful disposition and just needs someone to spoil her and give her a chance.

History: Summer came out of the Floyd County shelter where she was dumped with her mother a Boston Terrier.

Raven is good with other dogs and loves to get attention. She is in charge though and everyone knows it b/c she makes these funny little growly sounds when they get on her nerves and they back off. She wouldn't do anything, she is just talking. She has obviously never had toys b/c she doesn't seem to have any interest in them at all. She just loves to be around her person. She is great on leash as well. Raven is a cuddler and is a great dog!

Lisa J has donated towards Sarah's care in honor of her friend Charlie M.

Foster Home Notes: Sarah is very very shy but sweet. A year after her coming to us, she will now come for treats but still stiffens up when petted. She stays free run of the house with my other dogs when I am home but I do baby gate her in a room when I am not home b/c she she likes to destuff things and I don't trust her to be free and unsupervised. Sarah uses the dog door and potties outside. She will lay in the living room and hang out in the house when I am walking around but when I approach she runs to her room, unless of course I have a treat in my hand. If we could get Sarah into a quieter home with one other dog and someone who could spend the individual time with her that she needs, I think she would be great. She will never be a dog who like to go for walks or visit pet stores. She likes the comfort of routine and familiarity. I think she was probably rarely touch as a pup and possibly abused. I feel for Sarah's safety she will need a tall fence. She does not jump the baby gate but if she did ever get away I don't know if we would get her back.

History: Sarah was a stray in downtown Marietta. She was running the streets with another dog and no one could get near them. We set at rap and caught Sarah almost immediately. Sadly we have been unable to catch her boyfriend Buddy (not the one listed below)and have been trying for over a year.

Buddy WAS a house dog and is totally houseborken but the man who has him right now has two old cockers who are upset by BUddy's presence so he won't let him in the house.

Foster Home Notes: Darla is a sweet very scared little girl. She is timid of everything in life. She needs a fenced yard, a dog door and a very quiet gentle home..She is coming around slowing but it is very apparent she has been serious abused. When you call her she wants to come and will get close then lay down to be petted. She give kisses but only if you are on her level. When you start to walk towards her she runs into her crate for security. Wait don't stop reading, Darla needs you! Darla is great with the other dogs and wants to play. Each day she gets better and better and just needs a home where she can be loved and who has less dogs then my house. She is so smart. You can see the intelligence in her eyes.

History: Darla was sitting in a ditch on a country road for weeks. Whenever anyone stopped she would run but then she would return to the intersection and sit in her ditch. We put out a humane trap and caught her. She has a collar with a owner ID tag on it. We called the name listed and he claimed to not have a dog and didn't know what we were talking about. Even after we read off his name and phone number to him! He had dumped her. She sat there waiting patiently for him to come back and get her.
